Report:

Subsequent to the successful GENEESS start event (25/06/13), a B2B matchmaking event was organized on Thursday 19th of September 2013 at PRoF project (Private care Room of the future) in Poperinge on location of the company Boone International. At PRoF several unique rooms are equipped in such a way they give an impression of the future living environment for the elderly and care dependent. During this event all attendees had the opportunity to discover the story behind PRoF and to visit these inspiring rooms. This B2B matchmaking event was focused around the business theme “remote health and comfort monitoring solutions”.

Again it was a successful event with 50 attendees, covering the two eco systems, the technology cluster of DSP Valley and the PRoF consortium which focuses on the living environment of elderly and care dependent. We are convinced that interesting collaborations can grow, originating from these two eco systems.

Jan Van Hecke gave more insight about how the PRoF consortium is created, which were the motives to start this inspiring project and what are the challenges for the aging society of tomorrow. Possible answers are given upon visiting the PRoF rooms where around 600 new technologies in each room are integrated. For sure this visit gave everybody an impression of how a private care room of the future can look like. The introduction of the business theme was given by Frederik Horemans. This presentation (click here) gave a broad overview of what remote monitoring in the health stands for. After this introduction nine interesting pitches were given which can be downloaded:
