ARCSIS is the trade association for the microelectronics and semiconductor activities in the Provence-Alps-Riviera (PACA) region, in France. It participates in assuring sustainability, full economic development and enhanced competitiveness of the regional microelectronics and communicating objects industry. Its 52 members include industries as well as research centers and universities.
Since 2005, ARCSIS has managed a major collaborative research and development program: CIM PACA (PACA Integrated Microelectronics Center).
CIM PACA groups together the microelectronics community around three interconnected platforms :
- Design: focused on the development of new designs and validation of methodologies for the SoCs in the field of Secured Communicating Solutions.
- Characterization: dedicated to advanced researches on materials, micro & nanostructures for microelectronics.
- Micro-PackS: : which purpose is to serve the smartcard community and provide innovative solutions for integration and for micropackaging on flexible substrates while increasing security, reliability and interoperability.
ARCSIS is also a key member of the world-ranking competitiveness cluster Secure Communicating Solutions. The SCS cluster was built on three existing expertise communities in PACA : microelectronics, represented by ARCSIS, telecommunications and networks and applications and software. Thus, it covers the supply chain from silicon to applications.
