Our Product Engineering team based in Utrecht-NL is looking for motivated candidates to contribute to our ambitious growth objectives for our Internet Of Thing (IoT) business.
You will work very closely with our Design, Test Engineering and Application teams to drive yield improvement and guaranty the best quality levels to our customers. You will interface with our key suppliers to ensure best in class performance and challenge them to continuously improve.

Job description
The Product Engineer will plan, direct, and lead product yield improvement activities including identification of failure and yield issues, identification of root cause and implementation of corrective actions.  You will take the lead on correlating performance to process parameters and support our new product introduction process for Low Power mixed signal (analogue/digital) devices from beta prototypes to production designs in CMOS technology. You will support the characterization and qualification testing of new products under development to guarantee product quality for existing volume manufacturing. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Establishing best-practice methodologies in product engineering to support the further development of mixed signal connectivity devices.
  • The post holder must be comfortable presenting and justifying their recommendations to the management team and build strong relationships with subcontractors communicating the position on product quality.
  • Responsible for existing products as well as new product introductions at both internal and external production sites with focus on:
  • Product quality, cost and yield, communicating with sub-contractor, quality assurance, product engineering and operations departments as necessary 
  • Supporting new product introductions in a timely and effective manner
  • Develop enabling technologies to support product and package roadmaps
  • Liaising with the Test Engineering team to drive test improvements
  • Interfacing with our foundry partners to understand and debug wafer-fab processing issues
  • Establishing processes and procedures supporting product engineering activities
 
Your profile
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Electronic Engineering
  • Excellent understanding of statistical process control and analysis techniques including six sigma strategies for quality control
  • Direct hands-on experience with yield management software, e.g. Galaxy Examinator / DATAPower
  • Excellent problem-solving skills supported by experience of coordinating controlled experiments to assist in areas like failure and yield analysis
  • A solid understanding of assembly methodologies for a variety of packages but specifically including QFN devices
  • An overall understanding of Mixed-signal IC ATE test and test techniques
  • A solid understanding of failure, yield and materials analysis techniques with experience in constructing experimental programs with subcontractors to determine root cause of failure, i.e. EMMI
  • Understanding of current Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC) reliability and quality requirements
  • Full understanding and experience of designing HTOL experiments in line with JEDEC requirements, including the calculation of HTOL acceleration factors
  • Full understanding and experience of managing ESD and Latch-up experiments in line with JEDEC requirements
  • Full understanding of silicon skew lots (FF, SS, FS, SF), and the interaction with the foundry to ensure process spread is within acceptable “normal” production processing for qualification purposes of a new FAB process.
  • Quality mindset and knowledge of change management best practices.
  • Knowledge of Development programs such as C, VB, Python is a plus to understand Test Program code and Chip Characterization scripts.
  • Very good interpersonal communication skills: you interact with teams and subcontractors from various parts of the globe (Asia, USA) and you build a trusted relationship with those partners.  You can justify your choices and have an objective-driven team player mindset.
